Homeowners who currently have an FHA-backed mortgage and who are in the market for a refinance may be eligible for an FHA Streamline Refinance. The Federal Housing Administration (FHA) is scheduled to lower its Up Front Mortgage Insurance Premium (UFMIP) to just .01% and reduce its annual to .55% for certain FHA borrowers. Borrowers may qualify for Streamline Refinance if current on existing FHA-insured mortgage AND the loan was endorsed on or before May 31, 2009.
